Non-Fourier conduction in a thin
film using MacCormak's predictor-corrector numerical scheme

A numerical analysis
is performed to investigate the wave nature of heat propagation in a film
subjected to a symmetrical temperature change on both
sides. It is disclosed that in transient heat conduction, a heat pulse is
transported as a wave witch is attenuated in the film, and that non-Fourrie
heat conduction is extremely significant within a certain range of film
thickness and time. Thath is, with
sudden temperature change on both sides of the very thin film temperature
overshoot takes palace within a very short period of time. This thermal wave
behavior is in accord with the existing theoretical results obtained by measns
of the method of separation of variables.
